What Kind Of Music Do We Sing?
Sweet Adeline choruses and quartets perform four-part a cappella harmony, barbershop style. The style of music lends itself to songs from any era and genre - today’s ballads, popular show tunes, even jazz.

Top Of The Falls chorus has performed this unique style at many varied venues throughout Central Montana, including the Lewis & Clark celebration in Fort Benton, Malmstrom AFB, Centene Stadium, the Grand Union Hotel, the USMC birthday celebration, the 4th of July parade, the Christmas Stroll, and numerous appearances throughout the holiday season at local assisted living facilities, to name a few.

What Are The Parts?
In simple terms, barbershop harmony is vocal harmony produced by four parts: lead, tenor, baritone, and bass. Any woman with singing ability, with or without vocal training, can easily find a part that fits her vocal range.

LEAD: is the melody and is sung in the range between A below middle C, and the C above middle C.

TENOR: is the harmony part sung consistently above the lead. The tenor voice is a light, sweet tone that compliments the lead.

BARITONE: covers approximately the same range as the lead. Baritone harmony notes cross the lead, sometimes above and sometimes below.

BASS: singers should have a rich, mellow voice. The lowest voice in the chorus, the bass should not be confused with the alto of conventional singing groups.
